Tell me what you think this means

Are you one of the Two I am looking for? READ at the end if you are wondering??

Good Morning, I have searched the internet on my post yesterday for the true
meaning of Pay it Forward, and could not find the proper thing to post here this morning. Although I did find that no matter what you go to on this subject it does say that it is a selfless act of doing something for another and not accepting or expecting repayment for it, but to hope that the person will repay only by performing a selfless act of giving or helping someone else, a perfect stranger.

This has saddened me to think that the act of giving can be such a hard thing to do
I had asked that they post that they found it on my blog if it were someone I was to send to.........well that was wrong for me to do although I did NOT do this to gain traffic or to be recongized. I simply wanted to know which 5 individuals
I was to send to?

As of last night I had three that had sent me addresses and done this the right way
Only I awoke this morning and one had changed her blog post and added someone elses blog to it.........again I did not want them to put my blog down I just wanted to know who my 5 were, another words which ones found it here and signed up without expectations of going every where just to get a bunch of free stuff??

The first time I attempted to be involved in one of these was on FB, I only had a couple sign up for me to send to and I sent mine out, but never got the one I was suppose to get in the beginning. Moral of this is it is selfless so I should not of expected anything anyway!!!!!!!

It should not be so hard to give from the heart so what I have decided to do is to give to the three that have signed up even though I know one of them will
receive several items probably.
*now if I had signed up on 5 blogs that means I should send out 15 gifts*
are you following me here?
If it is not obvious to most who follow my blog and participate in my giveaways I have a large heart and I have always been a giving person, no I do not want a pat on my back nor do I expect a thing in return I give because I LOVE to give
.
I do not do it thinking it is going to pay off for me in any way. I was taught old fashioned morals in life and I am extremely Proud to say that.
I give because I love to give, the true gift of giving is to give from your heart
*so I want to give from my heart*

what I am looking for this morning is this
I need two individuals that want to receive a small handmade gift from me
This is a gift of love the only thing I want is to know that someday in someway you will pass it on PAY IT FORWARD
Do not comment to sign up contact me and let me know your address
Now everyone can comment I love comments, And appreciate those that do leave them

Another words I am hoping that the two that do sign up will do a kind act for someone a stranger, be it that you go to church this morning and help the little lady with the walker get to the pew she wishes to sit at

Be nice to someone else you could go to lunch and see a lonely person dining alone pick up their tab yes pay for their meal, and do not expect recognition for it, another words do not have the waitress say who paid just do it *It will make you feel good*
just do something sweet and selfless for someone else!!
*This act should feel you heart with Joy*
I do not want to know what you do or intend to do
I just want to give to someone who will have a large giving heart in return
Big hugs to all of you on this Glorious sunday morning
God Bless
Brenda

  1. Brenda,

I hope that you find the 2 people that you are looking for this morning. I love the idea of PIF and the feeling that you get when helping others.

We had the opportunity while traveling through Phoenix a few years back to help out a young family man whose car was broken down. He need money for a part to get back home to his wife. So we gave him the $10 he needed for the part and he was able to get home. Normally I am very cynical about handing money to strangers, but he was stuck in our hotel parking lot with his car and he had money, he showed us, he just needed the additional $10 to get the part. He wanted our address to send us back the money, which we declined to give, we only told him that in his life if he came upon a stranger who needed help to remember this moment and lend a hand.

I also was on the receiving end of a PAY IT FORWARD. Years ago, when Sean was little, I would travel back and forth between PA and MD. I put so many miles on my little car every weekend, that I finally wore out the alternator. We were stuck on the side of the road on Thanksgiving day about 1/2 way to my mom's house. A complete stranger stopped and helped my husband out. He gave up being on time for his family dinner to help us. I have never forgotten that young man and I am thankful that he stopped to help us, cause we would have been stuck there for a long time otherwise.

Anyway, selfless acts of kindness are what a true PIF are about.

And the Pay It Forward that has gone around here in blogland, is very close to the spirit of a true PAY IT FORWARD. Receive one act of kindness...perform 5 acts of kindness yourself.

Have a wonderful day and I know that the ones you are looking for are out there.

  2. Brenda,
My feelings exactly. See my post on Pay It Forward and the twist I added at the end "Change Of Rules".

Paying It Forward is like having your guardian angel at your side. She is there when you need her no questions asked, but in return we must be angels as well.

Prim Blessings to you and your family this fine Sunday Morning.

  3. Brenda,
I loved your post this morning! I am reading it after a long stressful 12 hour shift of working last night on the Cardiology Unit of one of our local hospitals! I sometimes get discouraged because I feel like I am always so giving of myself physically, mentally and spiritually and it is very draining with usually no validation that what you do makes a difference to anyone. Occasionally, you have someone that you know really appreciates what you do for them, and they tell you so, and it makes it all worth the ones that don't care, or resist what you give them. Just a few kind words that you know are really sincere can make it so much better! I really had a bad night but after reading your post, I have a feeling of peace inside, because I know I did good for everyone that I took care of last night, even if they didn't tell me. I also did get some very kind words in return and it wasn't nearly as bad as the negative things that happened that I was focusing on during my trip home this morning!
I'm not really sure what you are talking about or what happened in your blog, but you made me think about paying it forward and about appreciation
For this, I would like to send you a small gift! Would you please send me your address so that I can show you my appreciation for your words this morning.
Hugs and have a wonderful day!

  5. Brenda, this is a lovely post and I feel the exact same way. I think PIF acts should go on anonymously, one shouldn't expect anything in return. Blogland was just saturated with this yesterday, a great idea indeed, but if you are one participating, please do it "Just Because" it's a good thing to do. After all, it's the little things that mean the most..Blessings, Traci

  6. After seeing all the PIF posts from different bloggers the last couple days, my thoughts are like yours...

I haven't joined anyone's because I already have one that nobody signed up for last year. I've posted twice about it, but I guess I just don't have many followers. LOL. I was thinking of re-posting it again, but with everyone else doing it now too, I will wait. Or I may just pick some random people and mail them a handmade gift as anonymously as I can.

  7. Hi Brenda: I too have great concerns when I saw so many PIF posts yesterday (after I posted mine from Holli's-Where the Rooster Crows.... I would hope that most people would be honest and only sign up for one and PIF to 5 but we all know that there are some out there who are not selfless and just too greedy. This concerns me greatly. We all should just keep an eye out for those who are abusing this wonderful concept.

  9. Brenda,

My hats off to you and your post! I read PIF off Dru's at a fien farmhouse, I signed up with Misi and posted mine. For some I either hope they truely didn't understand, but for most they were just hoping for some great hand mades from all over blogland...
Lesson here is for us to become more adware and pay it forward more in our everyday lifes!
I hope you get you addition 2. I Believe I still need 3... either way I will figure out how to pay it forward towards 5.. Have a great day! OLM

  10. My Google reader was inundated with Pay it Forward posts, and, being the somewhat cynical person I am, I thought there was definite room for abuse. Sure enough, I saw numerous blogs where the same people signed up again and again. I'm sad that it turned out that way, but unfortunately, not surprised.

  11. Brenda,
I KNOW AND I KNOW PRETTY MUCH EVERYONE WHO FOLLOWS YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST 'GIVING' PEOPLE ON THE BLOGS....and HOPEFULLY....the one's you spoke of that did your 'pay it forward' missunderstood the arrangements. Let's hope that's how it was....because I'd hate to think people took advantage of something so generous of someone.

I UNDERSTOOD YOUR POST TODAY COMPLETELY.

Please keep your wonderful spirit and don't be upset...this is a good thing.

    Hugs, Karen

  12. G'morn, Karen ~ We do these things monthly in our lives. It is so fun & rewarding to bring joy & delight to another ... the smile is gratitude enough. I love the concept of heart gifts ...

    Beautiful share ...

    Happy St. Paddy's day ~

  13. I love the pay it forward idea, but if I have to pay it forward to get, then I think that defeats the purpose;) I give because I want to, so think in some ways the POF is more of a chain link to sites?

I have been making eggs for fun and realized that I won't need them after the holiday so I thought it might be fun to go to the nursing home and hand them out to residents.

  14. Good morning Brenda! What a wonderful post! I read all over blogland yesterday about the pay it forward, and decided against joining in for the simple reason that if I choose to pay it forward to someone I do not expect to get praise or a prize of any sort. I have been on both the receiving side of paying it forward and the giving side. But in my mind it does have to be a private thing, and not for the "glory" of giving to someone. Wishing you all the Blessings that you deserve, you are one of the most helpful and giving person that I know!

  15. I echo Debbie/Wollen Sails' words. It just seemed like so many people were signing up for the wrong reasons. That's not to cast any disparagement on the ones (like you, Brenda) who were doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

While I love the concept of paying it forward, the concept, in and of itself, has strings attached because you're doing something good for a "prize" later on. Shouldn't the "prize" be just doing something good? Then again, is there such a thing as a selfless act, if giving makes you feel good, and you get that little squee inside for making someone happy?

I get kinda caught up in these little weird thoughts where I "split hairs" - lol!

  17. Hi Brenda,

I too hope you find your two people to send your PIF "gift from your heart!"

Some 6-1/2 years ago, there were many people who did selfless acts of kindness for many of us who were flooded in the little town where my shop is housed. We were flooded by Hurricane Ivan. It was a very tough set of circumstances to endure. I didn't think I would ever get through it, let alone ever get over it! There were so many kindhearted individuals who came to our rescue every way they could, never asking for anything in return! I vowed that I would never pass a "red bucket" (Salvation Army) ever again without stopping to drop whatever money I could afford to help others who may either be going through devastation or others who happen to be less fortunate than myself!

My point, you never know when you may be the person who needs someone else's selfless act of kindness. No one person is ever saved from the possibility of needing help at some point in time or another! And PIF acts of kindness neither need to be rewarded nor worn on your shoulder! Anyone who may have joined in to be a part of this "from the heart passionate PIF" will know whether or not joining in is really from their heart or just for personal gain in the free gifts they receive!

I think you meant well with what you intended to do and I commend you for your efforts! My suggestion for a PIF would be to send just even a dollar for the relief effort to help those who suffered great losses in Japan from the earthquake and tsunami! Have a blessed day!

  18. Brenda, I have not participated in any of the current "Pay It Forward" posts that have been circulating recently because I do not think that they truly encompass the REAL meaning behind the PIF philosophy. As you have unfortunately discovered, some of the people who have signed up are only doing it for personal gain; they see it as a way to get something for themselves rather than participating in the true spirit of the offer. You are one of the most generous and caring people that I have had the good fortune to meet here in blogland and for anyone to imply that you are doing this in order to promote your blog or yourself is ridiculous. I am so sorry that you have had this experience and I truly hope that you find two people who will TRULY pay forward your gifts without any expectation of reward or recognition. Take care my friend, Deb

  19. I participated in one of these a couple of years ago via blogging...how we did it was, the first 3 to 5 (your choice) people who commented on your pay it forward post received the gifts and they committed to paying it forward as well. I would pray about the greedy ones....if no peace, no gift...good luck with all of this.

  20. This post was amazing!!! I have posted a PIF on my blog after signing up for yours. However, I still have no one signed up. Just some crickets still chirping over there...LOL! But, I don't have a huge following. And perhaps those who do follow have signed up elsewhere...or do not want to PIF? Honestly, I am not worried about recieving anything....I just thought it was a kind, selfless act of kindness....and thought it was a great idea. Evidentally....there are others who maybe don't have the time or inclination to keep it going...or as I stated before...have gone elsewhere to do so? Good luck to all who have participated in trying to do something good!

  21. Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing
"But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly." (Mathew 6:3-4)
