Ok so as I sit and watch out the window over my computer this morning I am watching several hummingbirds feeding. I love the hummingbirds and it is a highlight of every morning to watch them, I sure will miss them when they are gone this year. So I made a treasury on Etsy of them wow there are some beautiful hummingbird items on Etsy. I have my eye on a few feeders!!
Have a lovely weekend
Brenda
MY father passed away over 4 yrs ago and his most beloved bird was the hummingbird. Good thing you can't see me for there are now tears to be wiped away. So whenever we see a hummingbird we think of him.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, I have not been a very good blog friend. I am so sorry. In fact, I have been feeling sorry for myself and that is just wrong. I apologize and I am hoping to get back on track! Little Loyal is finally feeling like her old self. She lost 1/3 of her total body weight so she is hungry all the time but I'm glad for that. The Housing Authority denied my brother an apartment. That pretty much guarantees that no low-income housing or any apartment complex what-so-ever in Quincy will rent to him. So we need to be looking for a private rental and on his income ( $697 per month ), that could be difficult. In the meantime, my parents just keep getting older and weaker. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteEnough of that!
Sorry to hear you've had trouble with your internet. I see a lot of gals saying that blogger doesn't update their lists like it's supposed to. Now, it is happening to me. And the number of followers changes almost daily. And now they are offering this new interface. I just don't know why they do these things without any explanation. There should be some kind of instructions for dummies!
We have quite a few hummingbirds here, too. They are so feisty! Love watching them.
Now all the finches are working our gardens over for flower seeds. That's how things get spread all over so everyone of our flower gardens gets turned into a cottage garden!
I'm watching the Hawkeyes play football with Mike. It is absolutely pouring rain there in Iowa City. 49 miles from our house--and the sun is shining here--88'--not a drop of rain here....
Hope to see pics of Shelby and Rango soon. You did get over Jackzie going to her new home, didn't you? Bet your hubby misses her, too.... Mine would.....
Many blessings,
★Linda★
My mom has hummingbirds outside her front window. They keep her entertained on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you decided not to do the show. I honestly cannot believe how you do all that you DO!

I have spent all of August sat watching and photographing the hummers. I think they are the coolest birds. They even don't mind my company and they are on the feeder before I get it hung up sometimes. They have been disappearing slowly and we have some young and transients flying thu. I will miss them, but then the deer will once again appear for me to watch. I might actually get some craft work done when the hummers go and it is cooler.
ReplyDeleteOur bay window at our desks we have hung 2 hummer feeders & enjoy them all day long ... our favorite bird. Today I actually got to stand VERY close to the feeders & it didn't upset them. WOW! I was thrilled.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely & safe holiday weekend.

Jeepers, I don't know how many times I've tried leaving a comment this afternoon. Not sure if it's my computer or blogger again! Anyway, watching birds and especially the little hummers come to the feeder is a beautiful way to spend quiet time.
ReplyDeleteMy MIL has always been a bird watcher and at 86 it fills her lonely days doing so. She taught my children when they were very young about birds and at almost 30 and 33 they continue to notice them, watch and enjoy them. At my sons house they had 4 feeders on the back deck and at one time had close to 25 or so hummers feeding at once. One flew inside the house when someone opened the slider to go in. I have a picture of my son catching it in his hand to take it back out! They are amazing little creatures for sure.
Curious about the changes you will be making soon. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Sheila
I love the hummers too - even though I have a permanent scar on my cheek from (unintentionally) getting in the middle of a hummer war....seriously....(I told you, I have not always been lucky!) There's a bit of a feeding frenzy going on now, so I suspect it won't be long before they begin their exodus.....
ReplyDeleteI hope your decision not to do the show is a happy - or at least peaceful - one for you....I'll be happy to continue to see you online, but I know that is a selfish pleasure. Wishing you the very best.....

I enjoy watching the birds, we have a lot of bluejays and it won't be long before all of the blackbirds come, at times our yard will be full of them, they like to eat the little grasshoppers we get tons of each year. Good luck on your changes that you have coming, I am only doing the one show this year, didn't want to give them up completely, so I kept the fun one!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful treasury! I love hummingbirds too. We had so many this last spring, we called it Hummingbird Wars, because they were constantly zooming around us like little fighter planes, chasing each other off the feeders. Territorial little buggers, aren't they?
