We started out yesterday with rain and 70 degree temps AHHH
Well that did not take long to change LOL and it was steamy and HOT
Tip: if you go pickin take lots of money or find places that you know you
can get big bargins at LOL, Now I went prepared with a couple hundred
But GEEEEEEE............
I did not take my camera forgot it......It is hard to remember what all to take
when you have a dog cage and three dogs to load food and toys for them
And we had to take our personal Pickup hubbies business truck was loaded down
So.......we had three people in a single cab pickup and for a hour and a half three dogs
LOL........it was a site to see, and Uncomfortable to say the least
I went with hopes of finding some old quilts and antique misc items.
This lady used to have a store set up like a good will would be and a
flower shop next door.
So she had a lot of high end market items like you would see in a flower shop
She had displays for sale etc.
Lots of glorious Antique furniture pieces that I YES drooled over LOL
BEAUTIFUL but I was a hundred shy of touching any of them
Not that I am not thinking about going back and getting a couple when I can!!
She was priced great on those antiques if comparing to going to an antique store
And they were all in Mint condition
I did purchase 5 Old Mill Spools a Huge long piece of ming for my holiday creations
I dug when I found that I was hoping to find more LOL
A few wooden crates for my craft show display
A couple of neat wire racks to hang ornaments on at shows
And three sweet wooden market boxes
A Neat tool bag for hubby
And a LARGE framed art print
I currently have a email sent to an auction house where one of these was recently
up for auction?? It is print # 709 of 1,000
of Wild Bill Cody and it is black and white looks like it was done in pencil
And it is signed by the artist we did not give hardly anything for it and we like it
But if for some reason I find out it is worth alot it may be going up for sale LOL
Today is going to be a busy one for me
I need to clean and organize
We are storing some things in my FIL's storage building so that I can
attempt to get into mine and organize and clean so we can set up a wood shop in it
To prepare for craft shows!! And while doing this I plan on finishing the insulation on one wall and ceiling and getting it ready to turn into a guest house
That will also house some of my supplies
Am I boring you yet? LOL I need more coffee and to get my rear up from here
to get busy, still having some sinus issues but better
I have some new puppy pictures etc and will share a better post tomorrow
Have a great day
Brenda
Wow Brenda, it sounds like you had a fun filled day finding great stuff ~ minus the jammed packed pick-up!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to post pictures of your finds.
Have a great day organizing!
Prim Blessings

Sounds like you had fun (except the cramped ride) and found some good stuff that has you excited. Good luck with all that work. I have a similar list but just can't get my lazy butt started. :)
ReplyDeleteJealousy is a sin, I know this. But DANG! I confess to a little jealousy, and MUCH happiness for your happy time. :~)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a good day. We used to have an old store like that, the guy didn't even have many lights in the place, so you really had to hunt. I never went when the store closed, but sure wish I had know about antiques and prims then.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Brenda I love picking when I have time...sounds like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteLOL....I think you've had enough coffee already dear Brenda!! :o) I can hear the energy spilling out of your words!! Sounds like a fun time all in all - hate it when you find treasures, but the finances don't allow! But you certainly didn't come away empty-handed! You'll have to be sure and post some pictures for those of us who are having picking and junking withdrawals (like, say, for instance, ME!) ;o) Good luck with your project list for today! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
